Ormidale House - Luxury Self Catering near Oban, Argyll - 13 Bedrooms (sleeps up to 31) with further houses for 22, 14 and 9 guests.

In Ormidale House, live life as the Lairds of Clan Campbell did in 1696. That's if they had plasma TVs, an indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, snooker, air hockey, billiards and sky tv.With furnishings fit for a Laird, roaring open fires, dream kitchens, kid's playrooms and every bed with the superking capacity to take the entirity of Clan Campbell; Ormidale has taken a historical treasure, stripped it of formality and turned it into a Scottish haven of relaxation, fun, adventure and excitement.

With fully equipped games rooms, you might think dragging your child outside would be like pulling a limpit from a rock, but do not worry. One step into the wilderness and your kid is in nature's Disneyland. 1000 acres of unimaginable wooded Scottish bliss. If not, the bouncy castle and trampoline should do the trick.

No matter how large a party of people, whether your use of Ormidale is for business, wedding or pleasure, all are usually pretty well catered for in terms of activities and leisure on the estate. With tennis court, football pitch, croquet sets, an indoor swimming pool, private hot tubs and saunas for each house, miles of forest walking, golf clubs provided for nearby golf courses and a licenced river for fishing, guests rarely travel further afield. A shame in one way, because they miss stunning scenery.

If the estate's trout don't tickle your tastebuds, the area is awash with alternative fishing opportunities. To give you an idea of the amount of fishing spots, the area's prices range from £9 per day per rod, to over £1000. Stalking and rough shooting can be arranged in season.

Weddings of up to 200 are accepted - that's about the population of one of the many famously scenic local islands, such as Jura, Bute, Arran, Gigha and Islay, all perfect distances for a daytrip; the ferry is just 25 minute's lovely drive southwards at Portavadie.

The Kyles of Bute, and Cowal peninsula is now known as "Argyll's Secret Coast." It has a great reputation as an outdoor leisure location. As well as watersports and field sports, you can try your hand at an endless list of land activities from caving and gorge-walking to abseiling, quad-biking and paintballing.
