Fearnach Bay House - Luxury Self Catering near Oban, Argyll - 4 Bedrooms sleeps 7/8

Quite often when you enter a holiday cottage for the first time it can be a bit of a let down, the images on the website are much better than your experience, but Fearnach Bay House is very, very different. Upon entry to this wonderful self catering property it becomes aparent that none of the photos are as good as the property is in real life. This holiday home is located just south of Oban and a few miles north of the Sound of Jura, the approach is mesmerising, the scenery is everything you had imagined the highlands of Scotland to be, rugged mountainous landscape with the cool calm still waters of the loch. It's just impossible to take a photograph that even remotely describes this beauty.

The views of the loch and the colours of the countryside are simply stunning. a hike up the hill reveals fabulous views and if you take your family, no matter how "cool" or generally unimpressed your teenagers are with just about anything you as a parent do, see or say, with this it will be different, present them with this primordeal landscape, and watch them discover a new recognition of why we are driven to see the remote beauty this part of Scotland embodies, a new love of the landscape around them that only the truely impressive can evoke.

There is a large garden, great for kids. There is a boat with oars and an outboard motor, its just great having the boat on the doorstep. and with complimentary fishing rights, rods at hand, this is a fishermans ideal location, an open sea loch, a little red boat, and an extraordinary house....... Perfect.

There are a multitude of outdoor activites that help create an harmonious and stress free holiday. From the rowing boat in Loch Melfort to the loch with fly fishing within 10 minutes of Kilmelford, Fearnach Bay offers everything a family could wish for, and more, in a West Coast holiday destination. Spacious and warm when the weather is miserable and light and airy with lots to do when the weather is fine. Owners, Rory and Jennie have created a small piece of paradise and they offer a warm and friendly welcome.

I am slightly OCD about cleanliness and I just could not fault how the house was presented. In fact I was a bit scared to use anything as it was so immaculate. The house is large, beatifully decorated, open plan and airy with every whim catered for.

Thoroughly recommended for families and friends.
