Luxury self catering in Crieff - sleeps 4

Beautifully furnished, to the very highest standard, and spotlessly clean. Every possible amenity is catered for in this smart, tasteful apartment at Croftweit in Crieff.

Crieff is a picturesque town and perfect for many types of activities. Very good cycling tours, hiking many marvellous Munro's (Ben Ardvorlich, is wonderful), sporting Kajak tours at Loch Earn.

Crieff is the gateway to the Highlands, it is situated just an hours drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and just 30 minutes from both Stirling and Perth, so it is an ideal location for exploring Scotland. Crieff is located in Central Perthshire, known as the Big Tree Country, in Fortingall you can see the 1,000 year old tree (near Kenmore). There are fantastic walks, hikes, and cycling routes which allow visitors to enjoy the great outdoors. The apartment is only a couple of minutes walk from Crieff, which has a fabulous fishmonger, butchers, and a wine shop.

With regard to the apartment, the lounge is a great place to unwind. Real oak floors, a comfy Peter Guild sofa and lots of soft cushions or the red leather recliner will get you in the mood to relax.

For entertainment there is a 42 inch plasma TV with Freeview, a Blu-Ray player and a Sony HiFi with IPod dock for listening to your favourite music. There is also free wireless broadband. The En-suite facility is a particular joy, being fully tiled with underfloor heating (no cold trips during the night). Heating is by radiators and was comfortably warm throughout. The kitchen/diner has all the appliances expected of a luxury apartment.

Both bedrooms (gorgeous master bedroom/ensuite, and lovely twin room) have french doors leading out to a private garden.

Finally, I would like to mention that Dorothy and John are absolutely perfect hosts. From the very beginning your booking will be easy and problem free. Their hospitality and friendliness is outstanding. Both take perfect care. John offers the possibility for online grocery shopping prior to your arrival. So cupboards and fridge can be filled ready for your stay.

John and Dorothy welcome guests with a lovely vase of fresh flowers and a welcome pack of wine, bread, milk and fresh fruit.

If you enjoy walking there are many and varied paths leading directly from Crieff centre.

A stroll alongside the River Earn on Lady Mary's Walk can be joined up to a longer walk out to Trowan and on the way back you can climb Laggan hill, or not, you decide. If you have energy left when you get back then head up the hill behind Crieff known as the Knock. These are all a short walk from the apartment and a pacticularly nice walk, The Hosh, takes you to some superb views over Crieff towards Comrie.

Crieff & Strathearn Drovers' Tryst annually celebrates the life, work and play of the people who made Crieff the cattle-droving crossroads of Scotland in the 1700s. The modern day Tryst is run by volunteers and built around a programme of guided walks in the stunning scenery and autumn colours of Strathearn & surrounding areas of Perthshire. The walks vary in difficulty but all are enriched by wildlife, plants, trees, history and the company of like-minded people.

For the Munro climbers the following are in the area:
