If you enjoy walking there are many and varied paths leading directly from Crieff centre. A stroll alongside the River Earn on Lady Mary's Walk can be joined up to a longer walk out to Trowan and on the way back you can climb Laggan hill, or not, you decide. If you have energy left when you get back then head up the hill behind Crieff known as the Knock. These are all a short walk from the apartment and a pacticularly nice walk, The Hosh, takes you to some superb views over Crieff towards Comrie. |
Crieff & Strathearn Drovers' Tryst annually celebrates the life, work and play of the people who made Crieff the cattle-droving crossroads of Scotland in the 1700s. The modern day Tryst is run by volunteers and built around a programme of guided walks in the stunning scenery and autumn colours of Strathearn & surrounding areas of Perthshire. The walks vary in difficulty but all are enriched by wildlife, plants, trees, history and the company of like-minded people. For the Munro climbers the following are in the area:
1. Ben Chonzie - via Glen Turret
2. Ben Vorlich and Stuc a' Chroin - South of Loch Earn from Ardvorlich.
3. Meall nan Tarmachan - Just North East of Killin.
4. The Ben Lawers group from the North side of Loch Tay which Includes - Meall a' Choire Leith, Meall Corranaich, Beinn Ghlas, Ben Lawyers, An Stuc, Meall Garbh and Meall Greigh (7 Munro's).
