Luxury Big Holiday House in Scotland - This wonderful large holiday house has been the focus of Chanel 4's TV program "Country House Rescue" Which showed the agonising difficulty in turning this capacious derelict into the luxury stately holiday house that it is today. Located beside the wonderful Galloway forest park, with 1000's of acres of wildlife on your doorstep, this big holiday home is an excellent venue to celebrate a large family gathering.

Reception Hall - vaulted beam ceiling, panelled walls and gentle wide stairs lead up to a gallery landing.
Drawing Room - generous, very comfortable, panelled walls, open fire. TV DVD, Video and Sound System.
Dining Room - wonderful proportions, seats up to 25, panelled walls and feature open fire.
Conservatory - it's original, very much loved and a little tired but a must use space on a sunny day.
Kitchen - integrated fridge, freezer, dish washer. Well equipped and designed. You'll never be alone in this kitchen.
Utility - off the kitchen with additional fridge freezer, extra pots and pans, washer and dryer.
Cloak Room - toilet and wash hand basin. Ballroom and Games Room - Ingle-nook feature fireplace and minstrel gallery.

Quality, new comfy beds, freshly made white cotton bedding - Egyptian cotton towels provided Spacious bedrooms with feature fireplaces are more modestly decorated but very functional.

14 acres of secluded mature gardens. Extensive lawns surround the house, screened by rhododendrons azalea and woodlands. The Clauchrie Burn and a small stream feeds the pond/small lake abundant with regional wildlife.

On our doorstep is The Galloway Forest Park. Offering the acclaimed 7 Stance cycling routes for all levels of experience and provides the perfect walking paths. The 13.5 acres of land Black Clauchrie spans is ideal for hunting, fishing and canoeing. |

We are a 35 minute drive from Turnberry – where you can expect a warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere, regardless of your handicap. Turnberry was host to the Open Championship Golf 2009. Preswick and Royal Troon can be reached in about a 1 hour drive. The first Open Championship was held at Prestwick in 1860. |
