Luxury coastal cottages - sleep 2 + 2

Luxury lochside stone eco cottages with hot tub set in an area of unparalleled natural beauty on the shore of Loch Eriboll

These are exceptional cottages, paving the way for a new generation of eco holiday cottages they offer eco tourism and extreme luxury in one very tidy package. The coastal cottages are in a spectacular location, and when standing inside looking out through the huge window it's easy to get drawn into the ever changing views over the loch and surrounding mountains. Isolated bliss! Views that encompass wildlife and sealife, there is a pod of dolphins you can watch swimming in the loch when they want to rest from the sea currents...a truly unforgettable experience!!!

Durness lies in the county of Sutherland on the North West tip of Great Britain. The wild remote and beautiful expanse of Cape Wrath enjoys one of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. An abundance of wildlife and vast open space create an overwhelming experience. Surrounded by some of the best walking locations in the world and an endlessly fascinating environment, made for exploring. A combination of spectacular natural features, not least the stunning coastline of towering cliffs, golden beaches backed by rugged mountains and expansive moorland have ensured this region boasts a well deserved reputation as a walkers paradise

The cottages are equipped and furnished to an exceptionally high standard with lots of wonderfully creative touches. Comfortable luxury! Fiona and Robbie are very welcoming hosts.

There is a lot to see and do in the area, and we discovered some stunning places. As you'll be treating yourself if you stay at Croft 103, just sitting in the coastal cottages taking in the solitude and gazing out at the landscape and skies is a real indulgence. We suspect there are very few places that could offer such a rare treat

The cottages are perfect for couples, so well fitted and lots of nice touches - the wood burning stove was perfect for the evenings. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and there's a pretty great music system. Aesthetically one of the best self catering coastal cottages in the UK,a perfect place to unwind.

Due to its location many guests arrive at night and it isn't until the following morning that they can appreciate the surroundings. A panorama is revealed across the loch and beyond to the snow-capped mountains. It's extremely easy to get caught up in these 180º views, offered from a wall of windows. The weather rolls in across the loch as dramatic a sight as any. A great feature of the property is the outdoor bath, which is best used at night, sitting under the stars, perfectly silent and still, it is the definition of serenity. The experience could only have been bettered if the northern lights made an appearance (which they apparently do).

Hill Cottage

Constructed from Croft 103’s honey-coloured stone and benefiting from a south-facing aspect, this property strikes the ideal balance between spaciousness and intimacy. A substantial 7ft feather-topped bed made of lacquered steel and leather is the centre piece of Hill Cottage’s bedroom. The unique design is complimented throughout by a range of specially commissioned fixtures and fittings. Adjacent to the bedroom, the bathroom area has a walk-in double shower lined with polished Caithness stone. There are two baths – both designed to accommodate two people – one of which is outdoors on the secluded patio area overlooking the sea.

The lounge and dining area includes beautifully upholstered furniture and floor coverings in world-famous Anta tweed and a specially commissioned dining table. Effortlessly combining traditional and contemporary, Hill Cottage offers a wood-burning stove, a state-of-the-art home entertainment system and Wi-Fi.
