Isle of Skye Self Catering

Lyndale - Laundry & Stables ( each sleep 2 + cot)

Lyndale - Set in absolute peace and stillness is Stable and Laundry Cottages. close to Lyndale House home to Linda and Marcus. They have tried to maintain the original features of the former stable, tack room and carriage shed hence the main room has huge windows and doors creating a light and airy contemporary feel. Both cottages are adjacent to each other set within the same building.

The kitchens are well equipped and are open to the dining area and then to the living areas with the log burning stoves that give a lovely glow at inght.

Stable cottage looks over the sea loch, Laundry looks to the woods, it is a relaxing feeling after a day exploring the Isle of Skye to rest your weary legs sitting outside beside the firebowl with a mug of hot chocolate to watch the dramatic sun setting over the water and keep watching the stars in the clear nothern night sky.

The location is really good for exploring Skye with its wonderful scenery. I would recommend visits out to Glen Brittle, The Cuillins and the Trotternish peninsula. I had a couple of lovely walks out to the ligthouse at Neist Point and also a short walk near Portreee. We would recommend a visit to Loch Bay too.

Inside there is a big plump–cushioned sofa to curl up on in front of the wood burning stove and enjoy the view down to the sea. Underfloor heating under the Caithness stone keeps the cottage warm. The kitchen cupboards are full of locally crafted pottery, there is a fridge, stove, microwave and everthing you need should you decide to eat in.

The canopied bed with feather duvet, pillows and crisp cotton bedding ensure a good nights sleep. I am asthmatic and an allergenic alternative was provided. There is a small dressing room which is suitable for a cot which we can provide. The bathroom has bath with a power shower, plump towels, organic hand-made soap and a bathrobe hangs on the back of the door

I had fresh eggs laid by Hetty the hen and flowers from the gardens. Lovely to come back to and relax after a day out seeing as much of Skye's scenery as I could. This is an idyllic place to stay in an idyllic landscape.

If you are looking for luxurious Self Catering in the Isle of Skye then Lyndale must be a very good option.
